Rainbow is the new Black

I see you there, walking across campus in your work uniform (black pants and a blue polo). You don't even care that you are fifteen minutes late because you have your starbucks coffee and all is right in the world. The principal stops you to ask what class you are supposed to be in and you laugh because the last time you were in high school was well over 7 years ago. He apologizes, blaming his mistake on your perfectly bright locks of cotton candy hair. It is your last line of defense in the mundane, black and white, adult world that surrounds you. It lets people know that your inner child still exists and is in fact thriving beautifully. You won't let uniformity or expectations define who you are. You are the lady with rainbow hair. You are a beacon to adults everywhere who secretly mourn the monotony that is their life. As you walk past the principal, the kids are all calling after you saying, "I love your hair!" and "You are awesome!" making you feel like the rockstar that you truely are. Stay young, stay bold, stay bright.
